Tasks are scheduled automations that run an AI-powered prompt on a recurring basis and deliver the results to you automatically. Instead of manually asking the same question every day or week, create a task and let ClarityQ handle it.

How Tasks Work

A task is a combination of:
  • A prompt — The question you want ClarityQ to answer (e.g., “What were yesterday’s key metrics?”)
  • A schedule — When to run it (daily, weekly, or monthly at a specific time)
  • Delivery channels — Where to send the results (email, Slack, and/or in-app)
When a task runs, the agent executes your prompt just like it would in Ask Anything — searching the Semantic Catalog, running SQL, and generating results. It then produces a summary and delivers it to your configured channels.

Task Statuses

StatusMeaning
ActiveRunning on schedule. The next run time is shown in the task list.
PausedTemporarily disabled. No runs will occur until you resume it.

Task Results

Every time a task executes, the results appear in the Results tab. Each result includes:
  • Summary — A concise 3-4 sentence overview of the key findings
  • Status — Running, Completed, or Failed
  • Timestamp — When the task executed, shown in your timezone
  • Full conversation — Click a completed result to view the complete agent response, including data tables and visualizations
Unread results are marked with a dot so you can easily see which ones you haven’t reviewed yet.
